Experience and Accomplishments
I graduated from Benilde-St. Margaret’s HS and paid for all 4 years’ tuition through the work-study program. I cleaned classrooms
4 hours — each day — after school.
My commitment to the importance of education remains strong.
I graduated from North Hennepin Community College with an Associates of Applied Science degree (Mechanical Engineering). I worked on campus in janitorial, tutoring, pupil-support assistance, computer lab, and newspaper and graduated with NO DEBT.
National Student Mechanical Engineering Design Award (2nd). During my last year at the U of MN, Dawn, Kathi and I designed an oar lock mechanism.
I paid for my full tuition at the U of MN (Institute of Technology) through my Mechanical Engineering Co-op Placement.
Immediately after graduation I began my Mechanical Engineering career at Flint Hills /Koch/ Refinery — 7 years.
At the refinery, I worked on large-scale projects which required communication with multiple areas, supervisors and operators.
I earned my Master’s Degree from Bethel University while completing my Teaching License (Secondary Math K-12).
I have been volunteering and/or substitute teaching in District 200 for the past 17 years.
My husband Scott and I will soon celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary.
